Support available to clubs;

Team Berkshire for Clubs

Get Berkshire Active envisage that the Team Berkshire Club offer will include access to business support services, discounted supplies and access to volunteers.  Membership will assist clubs to deliver better sports experiences and more opportunities for people to take part in sport and physical activity.  We hope to build a brand identity that allows all clubs in Berkshire to feel part of a wider ‘sports community’, to benefit from closer relationships with other varied sports clubs alongside tangible membership benefits.   

Get Berkshire Active would like Team Berkshire to develop into the platform through which clubs share best practice with each other, interact with our organisation and address the big issues in sport in Berkshire. Marketing

Where relevant Get Berkshire Active can help support clubs with marketing their sport and physical activity opportunities. Our activity finder allows clubs to upload their own sessions. You need to be registered with our website in order to gain log in details to then upload opportunities. Click here for our registration page.

Get Berkshire Active also have a Facebook page and Twitter page which are used to promote local sport and physical activity opportunities. Contact info@getberkshireactive.org if you have an opportunity that you would like to feature on one of these pages.

Workforce

If you are a club seeking volunteers for a one-off event Get Berkshire Active can promote this to our ‘Team Berkshire’ volunteers. Contact info@getberkshireactive.org if you would like to recruit volunteers for a one-off event.

If you are seeking volunteers for a more regular, ongoing role within your club why not register with your local volunteer centre? Get Berkshire Active have been told by Volunteer Centres in Berkshire that they are seeking more sports-related opportunities. www.coachingberkshire.org is a one stop shop for coaches, coach managers and coach recruiters in Berkshire and by signing up to the register coaches will receive regular updates on funding, coaching and wider opportunities, linked in with both Get Berkshire Active and our partners. Signing up to the register is simple and quick so if you’re keen to keep up to date on coaching development in Berkshire please sign up now!

Get Berkshire Active offer a coach bursary scheme that is open to all coaches working with participants aged 14 and over. Bursaries can be applied for up to 50% of the cost of the course and we will consider applications for all CPD and levels of coaching awards. Coaches receiving bursaries are required to report back to Get Berkshire Active on the impact of the bursary on their coaching. Training and Qualifications

Get Berkshire Active supports local coaches with their education and development via our course programme and coach bursary scheme. For additional details of sport specific courses, go to our Sport page to contact the relevant National Governing Body of Sport NGB officer.

Support for Volunteers

Become a Team Berkshire Volunteer - All you need to do is volunteer with Get Berkshire Active and you’ll be an official ‘Team Berkshire Volunteer’.  All Team Berkshire Volunteers receive; a ’Welcome to Team Berkshire’ letter, a Team Berkshire T-Shirt and access to free training courses including First Aid and First Steps into Coaching.
