Why Sport/Activity?

We all know that regular sport and physical activity plays a key part in a healthy lifestyle, and research supporting this is extensive and well documented. Factors affected include physical and psychological health, productivity at work, and engagement and attainment in education.

Get Berkshire Active (GBA) have taken the time to collate a wide range of academic, parliamentary and scientific research which explores why everyone should participate in regular amounts of sport or physical activity. We hope these articles provide an insight into why GBA are working to improve the scope of physical activity, and increase the breadth and quality of sporting provision in Berkshire, as well as giving headline information of the programmes we are running to impact each area.
